Self-Portraits & Re-Branding Exercises: Self-Portraits & Re-Branding Exercises are photomontages and collages where I paste my face (and pieces of my countenance) over magazine advertisements of models, celebrities, artists, and other good-looking people exploited for their appearances. Pieces are both digital inkjets and mixed-media prints and some include glue, text, collage, bodily fluids, paint, and all other sorts of weird shit. In a world saturated by branding, where corporate demons sell faces and bodies like swooshes, why not appropriate a bit of imagery and have some fun at their expense? Pieces are 9"x12" and are in hand-crafted maple frames. Several of the first editions are currently part of the collections of E. C. Holmes and the Minnick family. |
